American depository shares of Orange SA were barely higher pre-market Friday after the French mobile network carrier said it is continuing deployment of a low-power network dedicated to the Internet of Things (IoT) based on LoRa technology.
The company said it aims for its LoRa network to have national coverage of metropolitan France by the end of 2017. Orange noted its network based on LoRa technology now covers nearly 4,000 towns and industrial sites with connectivity inside buildings and below ground. The company also said it is preparing to test the interconnection of its LoRa network with that of another European operator by December.
